The Path to Peace Speaker Series

Following our performances, of our new production,

HOBO GRUNT CYCLE, guest speakers will lead participatory discussions on issues of nonviolence, fostering a compassionate society, and nurturing peace in ourselves and our world.

Moderated by Veronica Nunn of Brooklyn for Peace..

Admission to the show includes access to the post-show speaker series all five nights. The speaker series will begin at approx. 8:15 every evening after the show with the exception of opening night.

Saturday, 3/1: Bill Gilson & Frank Stearns of Veterans For Peace, a global organization of Military Veterans and allies working to end all wars. Bill is a US Navy veteran of the Korean War era (1954-58) and is currently President of chapter 34 of VFP. Frank served in the US Army from 1966-68 and was deployed to Vietnam as a tank commander from 1967-68. He is former President of VFP Chapter 34.

Friday, 3/7: Lionelle Hamanaka of Military Families Speak Out is the mother of a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. After her son returned home from war and was unable to find affordable housing or sustainable employment, Ms. Hamanaka became active in advocating for the expansion of affordable housing for veterans.

Saturday, 3/8: Captain Paul K. Chappell of The Nuclear Age Peace Foundation graduated from West Point in 2002, was deployed to Iraq, and left active duty in November 2009 as a Captain. He is the author of the Road to Peace series, a seven-book series about waging peace, ending war, the art of living, and what it means to be human.

Friday/Saturday, 3/14 & 3/15: Claude AnShin Thomas, founder of The Zaltho Foundation, is an American Zen Buddhist monk and Vietnam War veteran. He is an international speaker, teacher and writer, and an advocate of active non-violence.
