National Organizer Job Description
Veterans For Peace
Remote | Full-Time | Some Travel and In-Person Required
Veterans For Peace (VFP) seeks a skilled, mission-driven National Organizer to help strengthen our chapters, develop volunteer leaders, coordinate national campaigns and mobilizations, and build relationships with coalition partners.
The National Organizer serves as a bridge between the national organization and local chapters, helping align grassroots organizing with Veterans For Peace's mission to build a culture of peace, challenge militarism, defend human rights, support veterans and communities affected by war, and work to abolish war as an instrument of national policy.
Responsibilities

Support and strengthen local chapters and Regional Coordinators.

Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders.

Assist with the formation and growth of new chapters.

Coordinate participation in national campaigns, actions, webinars, and mobilizations.

Support Veterans For Peace working groups, committees, and national projects.

Build and maintain relationships with coalition partners and allied organizations.

Draft organizing communications, action alerts, and member engagement materials.

Track organizing activities, participation, and outcomes.

Collaborate with staff, chapter leaders, and volunteers to advance organizational priorities.
Qualifications
-
Experience in community, labor, issue-based, or movement organizing.

Strong relationship-building and leadership development skills.

Experience coordinating volunteers and grassroots campaigns.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Commitment to the mission and values of Veterans For Peace.

Ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working with membership organizations.

Experience supporting volunteer-led groups or chapters.
-
Familiarity with peace, anti-war, veterans, economic and racial justice, labor, climate justice, immigrant rights, or democracy movements.

Experience facilitating training and leadership development programs.
Compensation
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and market value
This is a remote position. Travel is required for conventions, training sessions, chapter support, coalition meetings, occasional staff meetings, and national mobilizations.
