VFP Louisville Chapter 168 held it's first reorganization meeting

September 13, 2013

Louisville Chapter 168 held it's first reorganization meeting on September 11, 2013. Leadership roles were filled. We were surprised to learn that our 'new' member, Jim Butler, wasn't new at all. He served in the Korean War and was one of the first VFP members starting in 1987. He's dedicated to social justice and service and he is a great role model for all. Last week Harold Trainer, the chapter Vice President, coordinate a successful protest rally focusing on military intervention in Syria. It was attended by almost 80 people (which is great for Louisville) and covered by local news media, TV and the Louisville Courier Journal newspaper. On September 19 our chapter participates in the University of Louisville Peace, Justice and Conflict Transformation weekend events leading up to International Peace Day on September 21. Our next major scheduled event is to participate in the Louisville Veterans Day Parade. Off to a very good start!!!
