Veterans For Peace call for the freedom of El Salvador's civil war veterans of the Alliance for a Peaceful El Salvador, who similar to us, were organizing to defend their country's democracy and the hard-fought achievements of El Salvador's 1992 Peace Accords.
They were arrested on unfounded accusations in June of 2024 after announcing peaceful protests to the Bukele government's inauguration for an unconstitutional second term.
Their trial starts on August 11, after two years of political imprisonment without access to visits or communication with their lawyers or families.
We call on Judge 3 of the First Organized Crime Tribunal to rule according to truth rather than to political pressure from the Bukele government.
