I find it truly heartbreaking that 50 years have gone by and, as it was then, my country remains “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today.” It felt to me to be a moral imperative to read aloud – and in community – the prescient words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and so, “for the sake of the hundreds of thousands trembling under our violence,” I could not be silent....
