Chapter 72 Participate in Living History Day [aka Militarism Day]

November 10, 2015

Last week, VFP Chapter 72 members, Penny Dex, Angie Hines, Mike Hastie and Malcolm Chaddock, went to Reynolds High School in Troutdale, OR to speak to two classes of students on Living History Day [aka Militarism Day]. More than 300 military veterans and their guests were invited to participate in the event that included a flag ceremony, a parade of military vechicles, and presentations by military veterans. The students were receptive and polite, asking very intelligent questions with solemn faces. VFP members speak out to shed light on the realities of war, to offer another narrative other than the glorification of military and war-making. We have much work to do.
