Wake Up to Climate Crisis & NO MAS (No Military Air Shows) Tour 2025-2026

VETERANS & CLIMATE ACTIVISTS DECLARE

WAKE UP TO CLIMATE CRISIS & NO MAS!

NO MILITARY AIR SHOWS!

Protests & teach-ins at military air shows in the USA against:

Tours to college campuses with teach-ins emphasizing:

Tour #1 (Sept-Oct 2025) along the heavily militarized coast of CA.  View our slides and brief report of Tour 1 in Fall 2025

Tours #2 & #3 (April-July 2026) 10 air shows and several college campuses in the Midwest, SE and NE USA.

Why this Tour? After the 2024 election during which the U.S. electorate ignored the climate crisis, Veterans For Peace resolved to reach out to a public not only mostly uninformed of the links between militarism and climate impacts, but also seemingly indifferent to the severity of the accelerating climate crisis. 2024 was the first year in which the 1.5 degrees C temperature rise over pre-industrial levels, set as an upper limit at the Paris Climate Accords in 2015, was breached. See more here. Meanwhile the Project 2025 energy and environmental protection plans, which underpin Trump policies, were written by polluters, with front groups such as the Koch-funded Competitive Enterprise Institute and the Heartland Institute playing key roles. Building on our years-long, successful No MAS campaigns, the Climate Crisis and Militarism Project is enlisting the support of allied organizations, including 350.org US, and dedicated individuals, to extend this campaign to the U.S. heartland. At locations ranging from large cities to agricultural communities, Veterans For Peace volunteers will join with local experts and leaders to inform folks in various communities of the worsening effects of climate change to their region, the country, and the globe. More importantly, we will share what we all can DO to mitigate and adapt to this crisis.
