VFP Giving Tuesday Challenge

Show your support by donating to your favorite VFP campaign or project! #GivingTuesday has become a global day to celebrate and encourage giving!

This year, Veterans For Peace is using #GivingTuesday to highlight some of our important efforts that we are planning in 2018. To inspire giving, we have featured 5 efforts and have created a friendly competition and will keep track of how many donations we get for each!

Veterans For Peace Travel Fund

Veterans For Peace has a commitment to standing in solidarity with people around the globe and here at home who are resisting militarism in all its forms. VFP solidarity delegations have gone to Okinawa, Standing Rock, the U.S.-Mexico border, Palestine, Vietnam, Cuba and many others.

The Veterans For Peace Travel fund helps support VFP members who travel in response to requests for U.S. veterans to join various resistance struggles. These delegations work for the elimination of war—the ultimate violence. As veterans of conscience, VFP is compelled to take a stand against violence and stand in solidarity with others seeking a more just system.

Golden Rule Project

To advance Veterans For Peace opposition to nuclear weapons and war. They have recovered and restored the original peace ship, the Golden Rule, that set sail in 1958 to stop nuclear testing in the atmosphere, and which inspired the many peace makers and peace ships that followed.

The reborn Golden Rule is set to sail once more on its 4th sailing season, to show that nuclear abolition is possible, and that bravery and tenacity can overcome militarism.

International Veterans Peace Conference

Veterans For Peace is in the beginning stages of organizing an International Veterans Peace Conference at the United Nations in 2018 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day (1918).

It is VFP's hope that an international conference with military veterans from around the globe will give voice to their collective experience that war is not the answer and make the voice of veterans resound among representatives of U.N. member nations.

Veterans Challenge Islamophobia

Veterans Challenge Islamophobia is a broad-based call to all veterans to defend the values of religious freedom, equality and individual rights. These are the very same values embedded in our Constitution that many of us believed we were defending when serving in the military.

The campaign is initiated and coordinated by Veterans For Peace. Veterans do not have to join VFP or agree with VFP on other issues to participate. The VCI campaign is a proactive effort to blunt the rise of hate and calls for more war.

The Veterans For Peace national office in St. Louis, MO is always bustling with activity. Our four full-time and two part-time staff members work tirelessly to ensure that Veterans For Peace makes the biggest impact possible. Donations to this fund will enter the general VFP finances that pay the bills and keep the lights on. So if you think the staff rocks (and don't want them to work in the dark), donate here!
