Bylaw amendment objective: To clarify and underscore that veterans with “bad paper discharges”, such as an “Other Than Honorable” discharge or a “Bad Conduct Discharge”, are in fact welcome to become full members. This is in fact our current practice. As this is not the norm among veteran organizations, this explicit addition to our list of non-discriminatory practices is warranted.
ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP
Section 4. Non-discriminatory practice
Membership may not be denied because of military discharge classification, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, or any other discriminatory practice.
