Howard Zinn Fund for Chapter Activities

The Veterans For Peace Howard Zinn Fund for Peace and Justice is intended to provide a resource to VFP chapters and members, with the purpose to develop projects that further the VFP mission of peace and justice. The Zinn Fund provides small grants up to $1,000, depending on the availability of funds, with a preference to support new chapter projects.

The Zinn Fund committee urges those developing projects to carefully review the Proposal Guidelines, which include the evaluation criteria. These Guidelines are updated regularly to help applicants develop effective projects that will make a difference for peace and justice.

Application deadlines are in the Spring and Fall, and are generally announced a couple of months in advance. All applications must be submitted online. Individual members must submit a grant request through their chapter.

Applicants should be aware that their proposal is evaluated in comparison with the other applications submitted for that review period, and that awards are given to those that are most likely to have an outcome for greater peace and justice.

Applicants are urged to plan and develop their projects well in advance, rather than waiting until the last minute.

All grantees must submit a quarterly report indicating the progress of their project. When a project is completed, grantees must also submit a final report.

Please help us build the VFP Howard Zinn Fund, so we can build the resources to support VFP peace and justice projects!
