Ellen Barfied, VFP Head UN Rep, is excited to report that the National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance and VFP are sponsoring a morning action on Thursday, November 6 at the Federal Energy "Regulatory" (NOT!) Commission is officially a part of the Beyond Extreme Energy week of actions to challenge fracking and gas export.

When:  Thursday, November 6, 2014

Where:  Union Station
              2 West/40 Massachusetts Ave., NE
              Washington, DC 20002

Time:     6:45 am - Noon

Bring VFP flags and YOUR BODY!

We will walk from Union Station to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission offices located @ 888 First St NE, Washington DC 20426.

A big VFP banner that says Stop the War on Mother Earth, US Military Biggest Consumer of Fossil Fuels on Earth! will be the focal point for the morning, and placards and flyers will explain links between fracking, gas export, and Pentagon war-making.

Nov 6 is the UN International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict, a very wordy way to say war is bad for the environment!  What a great convergence that Beyond Extreme Energy Actions are this week and that Veterans For Peace and National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance can join.

If you can participate, sign up on the Beyond Extreme Energy website so we can know how many are coming. You can note that you are coming for an hour, day or all week. Folks that sign up will receive a full detailed schedule for the week.
