WILL BE ERECTED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE SANTA MONICA PIER
THROUGHOUT MEMORIAL WEEKEND
MAY 28TH -30TH
THERE WILL BE A CANDEL LIGHT VIGIL ON SUNDAY AT DUSK
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND
TO ASSIST WITH SETUP 7AM-12PM SATURDAY MAY 28TH.
THIS INCLUDES PUTTING OUT AS MANY OF THE APROX. 2,500 MEMENTOS AS POSSIBLE.
(THIS WILL DEPEND ON VOLUNTEERS ON SAT. AND TAKE DOWN ON SUN.)
SETTING UP CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL ON SUNDAY 2PM-6PM
LIGHTING OF CANDLES JUST PRIOR TO DUSK
HELP WITH TAKE DOWN MONDAY 4PM-7PM
PLEASE COME AND VISIT TO REMEMBER THE HUMAN COST OF WAR
AND GIVE SOME OF YOUR TIME THIS MEMORIAL WEEKEND TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD OF ALL THE WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE SUSTAINED THIS MEMORIAL EVERY SUNDAY (AND THEN SOME) SINCE FEBRUARY 2004

Time: 3PM
Veterans for Peace and the Stoughton Area Peace Coalition will be hosting a non-traditional Memorial Day service at Veterans Park in Stoughton this Monday, May 30th, starting at 3 PM. The public is welcome to participate. There will be a reading of the names of the members of the Stoughton area who have died in wars since the Civil War. World War II, Vietnam War and other veterans, conscientious objectors and peace activists will speak. There will be an open mike session for veterans to talk and for persons to talk about their relatives and friends who served in wars and what those veterans said about war. Veterans Park is located at the corner of S. Page St. and Riverside Dr. in Stoughton. Call Buzz Davis for more information at 608-239-5354.
VFP Chapter 34 New York, NY
New York City Chapter 34 of Veterans For Peace will host a Memorial Day Observance For Peace, to remember our fallen comrades and all victims of war. We will speak about the true meaning of Memorial Day for veterans, their families and all victims of war. Chair of the NY City Council Veterans Affairs Committee Mathieu Eugene will attend; other elected officials have also been invited.
We will meet at 12 Noon near the Korean War Veterans Memorial, on the waterfront in Battery Park. Look for our banners near the Statue of Liberty Ferry..
Veterans, friends and family members will commemorate our fallen brothers and sisters, and all victims of war, It is a time to remember friends and loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice, by calling out their names, and honoring them by casting a flower into the river to cries of "Presente!" Taps will be played after this solemn ceremony..
