Here are 10 Veterans For Peace accomplishments from 2009. Help us continue the work in 2010, our 25th year anniversary!

1.  Increased public pressure to end the war in Afghanistan, including several letters to the President, civil disobedience at the White House, and actions in cities and towns around the country.

2.  Spearheaded events and projects to end the use of torture by our government.

3.  Brought a national spotlight to the issue of Military Sexual Trauma.

4.  Established additional water treatment units in Iraq, including at Abu Graib Prison and the historical shrine in Samarra.

5. Placed over 100 copies of "10 Excellent Reasons Not to Join the Military" in public schools and libraries around the country.

6.  Traveled around the globe as part of international peace delegations.  Members of VFP traveled to Honduras, Afghanistan, El Salvador, Palestine, and Venezuala.

7.  Gathered hundreds of additional signatures for Chapter 116's petition to stop the military use of Depleted Uranium.

8. Assisted in the distributed of the "War Crimes Times" newspaper online and through chapters.

9.  Challenged the "Virtual Army Experience" both at Franklin Mills Mall in Philadelphia, PA and its travelling version.

10.  Continued doing what we do best both locally and nationally - educating the public and media about the full cost of war!

We have done all of this and more.  Thank you for your activism and support to make this happen.  Let's charge forward together in 2010!
