Zones of Concern and Struggle (ZOCS) Grant

VFP sponsored grants for members and chapters

Based on guidelines outlined by the original intent of the ZOCS proposal and grant, the committee will evaluate proposals and award monetary amounts for successful applicants.

These funds may not fully fund a project, but assure that a solid structure is developed to successfully carry out the goals of selected projects.

The committee will consist of members from a cross-section of regions. Outside organizers and development practitioners will also be asked to participate on the selection committee.

The committee will examine the content and spirit of the original Zones of Concern and Struggle proposal, and in keeping with the mutual understanding of the foundation and program director / grant writer, will utilize and restrict the funds towards the implementation of the Zone of Concern project, as it was understood by both parties.

Veterans for Peace must report on the utilization of funds, as specified in the final award letter, in a six-month and one-year time period after the receipt of the final grant monies on May 18, 2001. Therefore, any recipient of grant monies will report on the success of its project thirty days before the report is due to the foundation, by October 18, 2001, for inclusion in the six-month report; April 18, 2002 and October 18, 2002 also will follow with reports.

A separate (attached) project proposal outline form is to be included with a chapter or member grant proposal, available from this committee or the national office and website at www.veteransforpeace.org.

If you would like to submit a ZOCS grant proposal, please email Committee Chair, Thomas Brinson at ltbrin@earthlink.net
