Enlistment Roulette Wheel
The Enlistment Roulette Wheel was developed by Caki Kennedy in Hawaii, who also wrote this brief explanatory note about how to assemble the components.
DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE THE ENLISTMENT ROULETTE WHEEL
- Print out the PDF file of the wheel.
- Take this .pdf to a copy shop and had them enlarge it 200% on 18 x 24 yellow cardstock.
- Also enlarge the gun.eps, but on white paper, and only 190% I mounted both on a piece of FOAMCORE (available at art supply stores); the gun at the bottom few inches leftover (cause the foamcore sheet was slightly larger than the cardstock).
- Cut the gun out VERY CAREFULLY and slowly with an x-acto blade and a steel triangle with holes in it too, cutting against steel for every line and curve.
- Leave a slight white border around the gun so it will really jump out visually against the black and yellow wheel. You can find the gravitational center of this gun by trying to balance it on a pin.
- Put the gun on the wheel with the pin, bend it at the back and tape it . We made a "washer" between it and the back with one more small peice of foamcore.
- Cut a triangular cardboard stand that to tape to the back so the wheel is free-standing.
- Create the Fact Sheet so it is visually appealing, and photocopy for handout.
