Baton Rouge Vigil For The Dead
Baton Rouge LA
February 15, 2004
On February 15th, Baton Rouge held a Vigil For The Dead, to honor all the troops that have died, and for all the Iraqi`s that have died in Iraq. The Feb. 15th date was the one year anniversary of the February 15th International Anti-War demonstration, the largest in world history.
Veterans For Peace, the Bienville House for Peace and Justice, and the Coalition Against the War Injustice, in Baton Rouge, were listed as sponsors. We lit one candle for each of the 540 (at the time) dead US troops, and a group of 5 candles to represent the thousands of Iraqi's killed. We put the candles in a "spiral shape" to represent the "spriraling" number of US dead.
